
WCIC/Playmate
Head Start Program is a federally funded low-income program for children
between the ages of 3 and 5 years old.
The purpose of WCIC/Playmate Head Start Program is to provide a
comprehensive framework that will increase social competency and
school readiness by:
1. Blending Multi-cultural and
anti-biased
educational curriculum;
2. Fostering development of the
whole child;
3. Integrating self-identity,
cognitive, language, physical, creative, emotional, and social
development;
4. Reflecting and honoring the
cultures of children, their families, and their communities.
WCIC/Playmate Head Start Program is currently serves 100 families in
Sacramento County The majority of the children from the Oak Park
community. The ethnicities served are: Caucasian, African-Americans,
Latinos, Hmong, Mien, Lao, Chinese, and Native-American. The languages
spoken are: English, Spanish, Hmong, Mien, Lao, Chinese, and American
Sign Language.

Head Start Program
Opens at 7:30 AM and closes at 5:30 PM, Monday
through Friday.
The AM classes begin at 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
The PM classes begin at 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
The Full- Day class begins at 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM year-round.
